Jackson Pollock and his gang
Just got back from a few days in Sag Harbor, and went immediately to The Springs where Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner lived. Of course, the house was incredible and the studio even more so. I took some shots through the windows since it was all closed, so you may not be able to see everything well, but you CAN see the beauteous property and view of the Sound. Then we went to the Green River Cemetary where Jackson and much of his crew were buried - a truly bucolic and lovely little place. Note the uproarious difference in size between Jackson's rock pile and Lee's (photo #1) - how like an artist! Such gifted people...let's not forget Frank O'Hara is buried there too - one of the best poets ever. I left some green stones from the beach on his grave, and a clamshell on Lee's and a bunch of white crystal rocks on Jackson's. Seemed fitting.
